ELISA MICONI FEATURED ON GUITAR CENTER'S ISSUE OF "THE MONTHLY BROADCAST"

June 15, 2020

Elisa Miconi is the featured Guitar Center instructor for the month of June 2020 on Guitar Center's journal "The Monthly Broadcast". "The Monthly Broadcast" is an in-store issue that comes out every month and is printed and distributed in all Guitar Center stores in the United States.

"One year and four days ago I signed a contract as Guitar Instructor at Guitar Center Boston. One year and four days later, I got a feature article on Guitar Center's monthly issue "The Monthly Broadcast". I can't believe it's been a year already, and I can't believe how much I was able to create and achieve in these past 12 months. I am definitely grateful for the people I've met, and for the opportunities given and taken. Whatever's next in the pot of crap that life means to throw at me, let me say this, BRING IT ON!"

"A SONG FROM BOSTON INSPIRED BY THE PANDEMIC"

April 17, 2020

Elisa Miconi was featured on one of the major Italian newspapers, "Il Messaggero", upon the release of a song she wrote and self-recorded at home during the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak in the city of Boston, Massachusetts.

The song, "Wannabe", stands against self-centered and egocentric individuals, and is meant to inspire each and every one of us to be better, for the good of ourselves as much as of the people around us.

"I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during this time, and following the rules for the sake of themselves, the ones they love, and everyone else on the planet. Let music inspire you, and treasure the moments you get with those you love. Don't take life for granted. I love you folks. Hang in there."

ELISA MICONI GRADUATES BERKLEE COLLEGE OF MUSIC

May 11, 2019

It's hard to describe the feeling at the end of a day like this. Graduating the school of my dreams and jumping into the music world as a professional musician carrying the name of Berklee College of Music, its values of community and resilience, and an already immeasurable baggage of knowledge that I am looking forward to feeding and expanding for as long as I'm alive, doesn't happen every day. Although I am still trying to make peace with the reality of it, it did happen today.
Being on stage with Missy Elliot, Alexander Lacamoire and Justin Timberlake, listening to their words for us, Berklee grads class of 2019, laughing at their jokes and sharing their tears, has been another great gift from Berklee to its students. We've all had our moments of hate and fight here, but no relationship lacks of those. What matters, in the end, is what two parties give to each other, what they learn from each other, and how they contribute to each other's growth. Berklee gave me all it had, and I gave all I had in return.
It's been wonderful to be part of the Berklee student experience, but I'm now looking forward to have an even better experience as Berklee grad.
In this surreal day, infinite thanks go to my family, for making this possible in the first place. More infinite thanks go to my best half, Ted Sullivan, and all of my friends, who have supported me all along. BIG SHUTOUT to the Italian crew: Manuela Pignatelli Francesco Pignatelli Lorenzo ScalziniGiancarlo Giusti Veronica Ratini Federico CecatiClaudia Maiolini. HUGE SHOUTOUT to the friends I've made in Boston and the wonderful players who have shared the stage with me, playing projects and recitals, sharing pizzas and what not. Among them: Marcela Bastida Carla Restivo Gaia LeoneAndrew Paolini Cj Schrieber Kelvin Andreas Ellis Hamilton Xuanyue Liu Alec Graham. Special thanks go to the teachers who have shared so much with me. Above all, the chair of the Guitar Department Kim Perlak and all of the other guitar teachers, with special thanks to my mentor Bruce Bartlett and vice-mentor Scott Tarulli. I wouldn't have become the guitarist and person I am today without you. Thanks also to the Jazz Composition Department and family and all the teachers within, with special thanks to my directed study teacher C Scott Free.
You have been so important during the last four years of my life, and I thank you for everything you've done for and meant to me.
I hope I've made you all proud, and I promise I'll make you prouder and prouder every day. "Life's a journey, not a destination". Might as well give the most and best of me, and get a better me in return.
Perk pic of the day: me saluting wonderful teachers from the stage.
Pearl of wisdom of the day:
"Find someone who's much better than you, and convince them to marry you" (Justin Timberlake)
Teary moment of the day: sharing tears with Missy Elliot receiving the honorary doctorate degree from Berklee. I felt like that about receiving a Bachelor's. If I was ever to receive an honorary doctorate in music, I don't know what would happen.
Bottom line: class of 2019, WE ROCK.

ROCK GUITAR...AND ALL THAT JAZZ

May 9, 2019

Guitarist Elisa Miconi presents originals and covers with a band of great, versatile musicians. Berklee is one of those things that you'd think you are doing a lot, until you realize that it's actually been doing you instead. This is gonna be just another one of those, so why come out? Well, BECAUSE, I came all the way from Italy to do music, live with music, for music, and I'd love to share where my journey has taken me with you. Furthermore, there's going to be my folks, who don't understand one word in English, so THAT is going to be hilarious. ELISA MICONI PLAYS GUITAR AND MANDOLIN IN THE WORLD PREMIERE OF CHRISTIAN DUHAMEL'S LATEST MUSICAL "WORLDS APART"

April 24, 2019

"Worlds Apart" is a musical full of romance and magic that tells the story of a brokenhearted songwriter whose life is uprooted by two ghosts who have lost their way. It takes place in a small community theater in Spokane, Washington, where the company takes pride in performing the same campy musical year after year. There is mystery, love, lust, and hopelessness intertwined throughout this wonderfully crafted masterpiece written by Christian Duhamel, last year’s Kleban Prize winner. Presented by the Berklee Theater Arts Collaborative and under the direction of Berklee’s faculty/industry professionals, "Worlds Apart" features students enrolled in five of Berklee’s professional theater training courses: performance, orchestra, music direction, stage management, and tech. Elisa Miconi has been selected as guitar and mandolin player for this production and will be in the pit with the Berklee Musical Theater Orchestra. The show will take place on April 25 and 25, 2019, at the Berklee Performance Center - 136 Massachusetts Avenue, Boston, Massachusetts, 02115, United States.
